It takes a spot of courage to stand up tall and a bit of derring-do to rise when you fall

Nice Try, Though

Tomorrow my 10-yr-old and 8-yr-old start school (my 16-yr-old started Monday). The hoots and hollers of celebration that you'll hear around 8:30 tomorrow morning will be me. But anyway, like I was saying, they start school in the morning, and my 10-yr-old is completely stuffed up and coughing. Not ONE. TIME. during the summer did he do this. Not once. And then today, the day before school starts, he's got a terrible cold. I think it's from having the fan blowing on him the last two nights as he's gone asleep. That's what I'm guessing. Because there's no way that he can be allergic to school.....Right?

look at it this way. all kids need to swim in big, wide germ pools to keep their immunity up and stay healthy. so sending him to school with a cold is really doing every-one a favour. that's how i see it when the kids get a cold and i've got no childcare available!!!

You need a song to celebrate the kids' return to school. You know, that you can blare out the windows of your car as you drop them off, and thoroughly embarrass them. Because it's your right. ;-)
Send him sniffling to school and call it allergies, lol.

actually, I think it is allergies but I find it strange that they're rearing their ugly heads RIGHT WHEN SCHOOL STARTS! But he went and there's no way he's staying home unless he's puking his guts out. And maybe not even then. Hah!

Hmmm. I wonder if that illness is psychosomatic. I have read that, as a child, Teddy Roosevelt primarily had asthmatic attacks the Saturday nights before his family planned to attend church on Sunday. The attacks were real—couldn’t be faked. But the cause?

So, how did the first day back go ?? Did the coughing subside long enough for you to get him onto the bus ??? Hope you enjoyed your peace and quiet.
Take care, and have a wonderful week. Meow

He made it to his first day AND his second day. Then we've had the weekend (coughing through most of it) and we'll see how Day Three goes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

ROFL. When I was young, my school-allergy used to cause all kinds of ailments, headache, stomoch-ache, body aches... for some reason nothing that is visible or measurable :)
