Can someone even explain how THIS is possible? I find it very disturbing--how does a judge allow this? What rationale could there be?

Wow, that seems really crazy. All the legal experts appear to be baffled too. How awful for the victim and for the other kids he might hurt.

anya, I can't get the page to load. It keeps saying Page Not Found. I hope there was some change in the decision made to let that guy be roaming around.

The article says that a prosecutor made a motion that he should be put into custody to await a hearing on the bond issue. One of the reasons given for the hearing is that apparently the bond was to have been secured by liens on the guy's family's property -- however, apparently there were never liens placed on the property. So there's nothing to even compel his appearance -- the bond has no teeth. However, of course the prosecutor will argue that not only is the bond ineffective, there should be no such bond -- he should be in custody awaiting appeal like every other dangerous criminal. I wondered if some good would come of the cnn publicity...

how crazy that he could slip through the cracks like that....maybe a little more care will taken in the future....hope so. Glad the creep's not out on the streets anymore.
