California Dreamin' On Such A Winter's Day

This past week, while much of the country was battling ice and snow and fog and storms, my husband and I were enjoying heavenly weather--balmy 70's, clear blue skies, bright beautiful sunshine---in the Capitola/Santa Cruz area. My in-laws came down and stayed with the kids for three days and three nights while we lounged and biked and relaxed and ate and ate some more. My mom pitched in on one of the days while my in-laws had other plans, so a big hearty THANKS to all the 'rents!!! Especially since the entire time all my kids were sick with fevers and coughs. That's true sacrifice right there....

Anyway, it was a fabulous get-away and I'm ready to do it again next week. I'm not so sure that there's a ringing endorsement for that plan coming from the parent department, though! Okay, okay. We'll do it in a couple of weeks.

Yay! I'm so glad you were able to get away. I hope you SLEPT for once in your life. :-) Sounds great. I have an idea, when our kids are born, you can return the favor. I mean, the in-laws don't have any kids at home, so how else are you going to pay them back?

I hope the kids are feeling better and that you may return to the sun and warmth soon. As for me, I’m hoping for an early Spring.
