As If Anyone Cares
I have to say that even though their story has been plastered everywhere ad nauseum, I rather enjoyed seeing pictures of Brad and Angelina's baby. She's unsurprisingly beautiful. I guess I'll join the madding crowds of sappy gushers.
And in other Hollywood news (get it here!), my favorite eye candy is available again: Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz have parted ways, which means he is up for grabs!!! (I didn't say it was newsworthy; but certainly it's drools-worthy).

I am disturbed by the fact that I think Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is beautiful. But she's a lucky baby in the gene department, and it appears that her parents will be good parents.
BUT....I do not like Angelina Jolie. Any time I see her, I think of the interview on the red carpet of Billy Bob Thornton. The one where he was talking to the camera, and she was stuck to his neck like a frigging sucker fish, as he proclaimed to the camera "We F***ed in the limo on the way here". With his and hers matching vials of blood on necklaces. CLASSY. I will only say that I admire Angelina's humanitarian efforts.

I'm kinda right there with you, ddm, on the whole angelina thing. I like to look at her because I can't find any part of her that doesn't seem perfect but she's definitely done some questionable things. Maybe parenthood has settled her down?
but that baby's a beaut....and so is yummy matthew. :)

I, for some reason, cannot STAND Angelina. Nor Brad Pitt. Perhaps because he has "I'm hot and I know it" oozing out of his pores... And I guess I don't like her because of her Grand Dame of Humanitarian Causes because she doesn't really put her money where her mouth is. Sure, she's given $20K to the Namibian health care system, which probably funded about 500 new doctors for the nation, but, give me a break! The woman lives in a TWENTY FIVE MILLION DOLLAR HOME, PEOPLE!! Barf! That's like me giving $40 to some cause and walking around like a pariah in my $500 Jimmy Choos. Puh-lease. Personally I think she is like Madonna in that she's trying out different images. First, like DDM mentioned, she did the biker chick-weirdo thing with Billy Bob, now she's donning her Self Righteous Rich Beautiful thing. I don't like her, I don't like him. I have to like their kids because they can't help it. She's DEFINITELY in the Hollywood Moms Who Take Themselves Too Seriously Club. Whew. Thanks for a forum in which to get that off my chest! (didn't realize I felt so strongly about that!)

do you think the baby had makeup on?? Did you hear they sold those pictures for FOUR MILLION DOLLARS to People???? I am severely disturbed that our society supports that kind of money exchange for THAT. Granted, they did give the money to charity, but I'm with LCS. I can't stand them both. This is exactly why I have myriad couples in my office thinking something is wrong with their love...we've got media out there portraying that love should be like THAT. They won't last five years.

i'm with ddm on the major dislike of angelina. BA (before angelina), i sorta had a superficial, lustful "thing" for brad (i know, pretty shallow/predictable). but AA (after angelina), i have developed this tremendous, unreasonable resentment towards the both of them. i don't even think she's that beautiful (hot, yes, but not beautiful). oh well, we'll see how long this lasts...
as for matthew, yes, he is definitely eye candy ;). and as for the breakup of he and penelope -- well, i've never thought of her as that pretty either. he can do better. (is this a totally catty comment, or what?) :)

I'm rubbing my hands together in glee and cackling evilly. These are the comments that make blogging fun. It's interesting to see what the climate is out there regarding the "stars" (we know who the real stars are in life but we'll let them think they're the most important ones)....
and thomas, I think it's a huge plus that you get to say you're from the same state as Matthew. That's probably worth a degree or two right there.

Okay, I am SO GLAD y'all went the fully catty route because I agree with ALL of you! I used to lust after Brad. The MOMENT he was linked with Angelina, and especially because it might have been before the end of his marriage to Jennifer, my lust vanished. *poof*

when i find myself really really resentful and critical about a celebrity, i usually find out it's more about me -- usually envy. your mileage may vary, of course.

I don't disagree that Angelina's pretty amazing looking....Brad's okay, Matthew causes drooling, and I agree with your assessment about Billy Bob. :)
Mileage does vary, depending on person doing the envying and the person being envied.
